Oops, I forgot a good one! This show's not so well-known because of the challenging sound quality, but it has a fierce Alligator jam:

Good calls on some of the shorter Alligators I left off my list, like 8-21-68, 1-25-69, and 4-21-69.
There are a few though that don't really have "Alligator jams", like 4-5-69 goes straight into feedback after the drums, and 1-16-70 goes into an Eleven jam. I like my Alligators to stretch out.....

firing up the old brain pan just listening to the runaway locomotive Eleven Cliff called;

and then the amzing Jan 22 1968 Alligator!

"...Great 16-minute Alligator to open! ...and they visit all the parts heard on Anthem (by Tahoe, they weren't vocalizing the "Alligator!" chorus anymore)".

Hey CPW, sorry--missed the call on the Eleven, one of my all time favorite songs. I am not as much of a fan of Alligator/Caution, though do love the boys, kazoos or not, in the opening portion of Alligator. And those CLIFF and others mentioned are fine examples, yours for the Ark I know well.

Now, for the 11, I think that the one from 2-11-69 is one of the best, the one on the commercial release ("Schoolgirl" title or some such...sorry, don't have it here in front of me).

Give it a spin and let me know what you think. CLIFF suggested the one from the next night, above, I think, and you almost can't go wrong with the ones from fall 68 thru Feb 69...getting the vocals just right is often the toughest part (poor Phil--still love the guy for trying to get that difficult part right).

Enjoy.

I have a tape off the CD I bought of Live at The Fillmore East 2-11-69, you're right, that is a good show, great Eleven.

Dig the early version from 1-22-68 btw.

10-12-68 is a great version too.
